HBR GAS NATURE:

HBr gas is a colourless compressed liquefied gas with an irritating odour.HBr gas is corrosive and slightly fuming, and decomposes when heated.HBr gas is soluble in water, acetic acid and alcohol.HBr gas reacts with reactive metals to produce hydrogen.

HBr gas is usually compressed in special hydrogen bromide cylinders. Although HBr gas is not flammable, high temperatures can cause the pressure inside the cylinder to rise and the cylinder may explode. Therefore, cylinders containing HBr gas should be stored in a cool, ventilated place away from heat and ignition sources and out of direct sunlight.

Cylinders should be stored in an upright position with well sealed valves, and full cylinders should be stored separately from empty ones.
